My name is Devin Ashwood, I am qualified with an Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and accredited with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
My practice is in Bruton. I also work at a GP surgery in Somerset but am able to arrange to make home visits in some cases.
I am able to help people with a range of problems.  Over the years, I have become specialised in addiction, depression, anxiety and panic disorders but my training and experience go beyond this.  I am currently employed teaching addictions counselling to students at Bath University and have completed a postgraduate course in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
 
Many people come to counselling with problems that have been around a long time, sometimes not even knowing quite what the problem is, but knowing something needs to be done. Taking the step to look for help is a big one and takes courage and determination.  If now is the right time for you to make a change, counselling can give you the support you need.
 

His training includes a Diploma in holistic hypnotherapy (completed with distinction), Level 2 certificates in both counselling skills and studies, an a

dvanced (level 4) Diploma in counselling certified by the CPCAB and numerous specialist workshops and shorter courses on specific therapeutic issues. 

Devin has worked professionally in a number of specialist agencies that tackle some of the more difficult areas such as social exclusion amongst teenagers and addiction counselling.

A Clinical audit conducted within an agency in which he worked described his performance as ‘Excellent’.  Devin works within the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) Code of Ethics, and as such receives regular supervision and is covered by professional insurance.
